Will Hutton, Executive Vice Chair, The Work Foundation

Regularly called on to advise senior political and business figures and comment in the national and international media, Will is today one of the pre-eminent economics commentators in the country.

He began his career in the City, as a stockbroker and investment analyst before moving to the BBC, where he worked both on radio, as a producer and reporter, and on TV as economics correspondent for flagship current affairs programme Newsnight. Prior to joining The Work Foundation, Will spent four years as editor-in-chief of the Observer, for which he continues to write a weekly column. He also regularly contributes to the Guardian and the Financial Times.

Paul Marshall, Co-founder of Marshall Wace

Paul Marshall co-founded Marshall Wace in 1998, and it has become one of Europe’s most high-profile hedge funds. Marshall has been the Chairman of the City Liberal Democrats and the Liberal Democrat Business Forum. He founded the independent liberal think tank, CentreForum and is said to be an advisor to Nick Clegg. He unsuccessfully ran for Parliament in 1987 for the SDP-Liberal Alliance in Fulham, England.

Andrew Roberts, Historian

The Observer newspaper describes Andrew Roberts as “one of the greatest historians of our time”. He has published a number of best-selling books on the history of British politics, and has won the Wolfson History Prize, the James Stern Silver Pen Award for Non-Fiction and the Emery Reves Award. He appears regularly on British television and radio, writes for The Sunday Telegraph and reviews history books and biography for The Spectator, Literary Review, Mail on Sunday and The Telegraph. He sits on the boards or advisory councils of a number of think-tanks and pressure groups, including The Centre for Policy Studies, The European Foundation and The Centre for Social Cohesion.
