Christiane Amanpour Returning To CNN International
Christiane Amanpour is returning to CNN International early next year, where she will host a nightly global affairs program.Amanpour left CNN in 2010 to host ABC's This Week. Her return to CNN had been speculated in recent months and weeks with reports first emerging from The New York Post in October this year.
It's reported that Amanpour will still remain at ABC News and split her time between the American broadcast network and CNN International.

Christiane Amanpour will return to CNN with a nightly news broadcast on CNN International, the network announced Tuesday.
Amanpour, who left CNN in 2010 to become host of ABC's "This Week," will remain a global affairs anchor for ABC News as part of a "unique arrangement," CNN Worldwide President Jim Walton said.
"Christiane Amanpour has been synonymous with international reporting and with CNN for many years," Walton said. "We could not be happier that through this unique arrangement with ABC News her experience and global perspective are returning to a nightly news broadcast for our international audience."
Amanpour said in a statement that she is excited about the opportunity.
"This role is groundbreaking, bold and very different! I am thrilled and honored," she said.

I am so happy to see CA return to CNNI. I have really missed her superb reporting and journalistic skills over the past 18 months. I have watched her on "This Week" but she is far too talented to have to do battle with some of the punditry class in the Beltway as well as guests who really have nothing enlightening to say. Could we be so fortunate as to have her replace the inane Piers in the 9p.m.EST slot??? Here's hoping!

I think this is bad news. Amanpour was so impressed with herself that she stopped focusing on issues and started focusing on her own egocentric take on explaining the issues. Out of her comfort zone of international work at ABC, she faltered and now she comes back to promote herself as an elder stateswoman on CNNI. Too bad some of the actual young talent which has fled to Fox doesn't return, like Ed Henry and John Roberts.
I'm also absolutely thrilled with Christiane coming back to CNN International. Her deep knowledge of world affairs and personal contact with many world leaders and characters make her program and interviews and round tables extremely interesting and insightful. I'm really thrilled. Hopefully CNN will make the video podcast available since I have no TV.
